Winter is just around the corner, and it’s time to start planning those ski adventures! For families looking to ski in Colorado (and beyond), several discount ski pass programs offer fantastic deals for kids, making it more affordable to hit the slopes. Here’s a rundown of the best programs for 2024:

Epic Kids Pass (Colorado)

  • On Sale: April 2024
  • Ages/Grade: Available for children enrolled in Kindergarten through 5th Grade
  • Cost: Free with proof of enrollment.
  • Ski Resorts Included: This program provides four days of skiing and riding at each of the state’s top-ranked resorts: Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Crested Butte.  It’s important to note there are black out dates on this pass, so plan accordingly. (Nov. 29- 30, Dec. 26 - 31, Jan. 18, Feb. 15 -16)

Kids Ski Passport

  • On Sale: August 1st, 2024
  • Ages/Grade: Grades 3rd - 6th
  • Cost: $67
  • Ski Resorts Included:The program offers 4 free days at EACH of the 20 resorts: A-Basin, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk, Cooper, Copper Mountain, Echo, Eldora, Granby Ranch, Hesperus, Howelden Hill, Loveland, Monarch, Powderhorn, Purgatory, Snowmass, Steamboat Springs, Sunlight, Telluride and Winter Park. The pass also includes 2 free Junior daily rental packages from Christy Sports. It’s important to note there are black out dates on this pass, so plan accordingly. (Dec. 25 - Jan 1, Jan.18 -19, Feb. 15 -16)

Gems Teen Pass

  • On Sale: August 1st, 2024
  • Ages/Grade: Available for children ages 12 to 17.
  • Cost: $199
  • Ski Resorts Included:The program offers 2 free days at EACH of the 11 resorts: A-Basin, Cooper, Echo, Eldora, Granby Ranch, Hesperus, Loveland, Monarch, Powderhorn, Purgatory, and Sunlight. It’s important to note there are black out dates on this pass, so plan accordingly. (Dec. 25 - Jan 1, Jan.18 -19, Feb. 15 -16)

Copper Ski Pass 

  • On Sale: Spring 2024
  • Ages/Grade: Child under 15 year of age
  • Cost: Buy an adult ski pass and get a kids pass free. 
  • Ski Resorts Included: This offer is a Copper exclusive, but gets you 4 days at Monarch Mountain too. If you’re looking for convenience of the I-70 corridor with little need to explore other resorts, this might be a perfect opportunity to save up to $500. 

Power Kids Pass

  • On Sale: Summer 2024
  • Ages/Grade: Available for children 12 and under.
  • Cost: Free!
  • Ski Resorts Included: Purgatory, Snowbowl, Brian Head, Sipapu, Pajarito, Nordic Valley, Lee Canyon and Willamette Pass. Also included: unlimited skiing at Valle Nevado and La Parva during the 2024 season.
