Meet Taylor Carpenter: Denver Foothills Property Expands to Chaffee County

The foothills always had a western edge. Now we’re following it.

Denver Foothills Property is proud to welcome Taylor Carpenter, Compass Broker Associate and Certified Mountain Area Specialist (CMAS), to our team. Taylor isn’t new to mountain real estate — she’s been living it, selling it, and raising her family in it for nearly two decades. What is new is where she’s taking us: deeper into Colorado’s Rocky Mountain corridor, serving Salida, Buena Vista, and the greater Chaffee County area.

Who Is Taylor Carpenter?

Taylor brings more than 18 years of real estate experience to the table — the majority of it focused on mountain and foothills properties across Colorado’s Front Range. Her background includes deep collaboration with developers and home builders in the Denver metro, which means she understands the structural, logistical, and financial layers of mountain property transactions that most agents don’t encounter until they’re already in over their heads.

She holds the Certified Mountain Area Specialist (CMAS) designation, a credential that matters when you’re evaluating well systems, septic setups, wildfire mitigation requirements, seasonal access, and acreage that doesn’t behave like a flat-lot suburb. Mountain real estate has its own language. Taylor is fluent.

She lives in Pine, Colorado — not a commute away from the mountains, but inside them — with her husband and two kids, Hattie and Jasper. That’s not incidental background. It means she’s fielding school-year schedules, outdoor recreation decisions, and community conversations the same way her clients are.

Why Chaffee County? Why Now?

Salida and Buena Vista have been on Colorado’s radar for years. What started as an outdoor recreation hub has matured into a full-spectrum real estate market — one attracting buyers who are done compromising between lifestyle and livability. The Arkansas River Valley delivers both: world-class whitewater, a legitimate arts community, access to 14ers, and a small-city infrastructure that has quietly gotten very good.

For buyers looking to leave the Front Range corridor without leaving Colorado — or for landowners in Chaffee County evaluating what their property is worth in this market — the question isn’t whether to engage. It’s who you trust to guide that decision.

Taylor knows mountain property. She knows the Compass platform. And now she knows our team.

The DFP Group Model: One Agent, All of Us

At Denver Foothills Property, we operate on a simple premise: when you sign with one of us, you get access to all of us. That means Taylor’s Chaffee County clients benefit from the full depth of our team — including Nick Melzer’s legal and land expertise, Tucker Volk’s Colorado lifestyle knowledge, Shanna Evans’ renovation and design eye, and the marketing infrastructure we’ve built specifically for mountain and rural properties.

We’re Compass-affiliated, which means Taylor’s clients in Salida and Buena Vista have access to the same tools — Homes.com, Zillow Showcase, Private Exclusives network — that we deploy for listings across Jefferson and Clear Creek Counties.

Thinking About Buying or Selling in Chaffee County?
